North West Region English Schools Swimming Association Championships 2014
I entered this competition for my school, entering 6 events in total, I was only accepted for 2 due to being 'too fast' to compete in the rest! So on the day of the competition, I packed my bags and my mum drove me to Bolton One, where the event was being held. When we got there, they were running late, and the pool was extremely busy due to the huge number of swimmers competing. Anyway, my two races were in the final session of the day.
I competed in the 100m Butterfly, finishing in a new personal best time of 1.03.44, I took the gold medal. My other event was my favourite, the 100m Breaststroke. Having entered a time of 1.11, I finished in 1.12.74, taking the gold medal. I was very pleased with this result, although it was slightly slower than my entry time, the next swimmer to finish was almost 8 seconds behind so I had swam the latter stages of the race on my own.
My school was extremely pleased with the results of the competition, now I have to wait to find out if I will be selected to represent our region at the finals which are to be held in Bristol at the end of June, so..... Fingers crossed!!
